This is my collection of Victorian Pressed Glass.
Unfortunately I only have room to display a few pieces at a time, so I decided to photograph most of the collection to see what I have.
Then I thought I would put the pictures on a simple website where they could be seen by people with similar interests.
So, like a good museum, some on display, the rest pictured and catalogued for all to see.
The collection is English pressed glass from about 1870 to around 1900. With a few exceptions all of the glass is coloured and mostly, from the north eastern company of Sowerby.
It is not my intention to provide details about the different manufacturers and types of glass, there are websites where that information is freely available.
There are also a number of books that have been published on the subject, please see my recommended books under the 'collecting' menu.
Most of the Sowerby pieces can be found in the Sowerby Pattern Books, two of which can also be found under the 'collecting' menu.
All the pictures can be 'clicked' to enlarge.

A simple site with lots of pictures. Enjoy.
